Ever since we set up our theater room, we’ve had movie nights with the entire family at least once a week. To take the fun an extra step, I started doing movie night menus where all of our snacks and drinks are coordinated to the movie. It’s been so much fun and the kids have loved it, so I thought I’d share them all here.
Let me start off by saying I am not a baker, a cake decorator, or food guru of any kind (I have yet to make a decent batch of carrots in the last decade, true story). I will not be giving tutorials on how to make a cake in the shape of Godzilla or fruit concoctions that look like Winnie the Pooh. Everything here is either incredibly simple to construct or just store-bought items that are cleverly put together to match the theme. Exhibit A: Teddy Grahams as Ewok cookies for Star Wars night. This mama does not have time to pipe frosting onto a freshly baked cookie to make an actual Ewok (nor does she have the skill to make it look remotely like an Ewok). But she does have time to pour a bag of Teddy Grahams into a bowl.
So if you’re looking for simple ways to spruce up your movie nights, this is the place for you. I keep it budget friendly, time-saving, and easy. But mostly, it’s just fun. The kids can get involved in every step of the process, and they’ll enjoy eating the goodies just as much as they did putting it all together.
While these were created for movie nights, they can also be used for any themed event. Having friends over for dinner on Talk Like a Pirate Day? Check out the Pirates of the Caribbean menu. Baseball-themed birthday party? Check out the Sandlot spread. Feel like getting in a spooky mood? Check out the Halloween Hits collection. Want to do Christmas in July? Check out the Christmas Classics collection. You don’t need an excuse to do a themed night. You just need some ideas. So here’s some to get you started.
Who says these themed menus only have to be for movies? Some shows are worthy of watching for hours on end, and what better way to enjoy them than with a fun menu to match? So far, I’ve just done Stranger Things, which was, admittedly, my favorite of all time and by far the most epic line-up, but the rest are coming soon!
Note: Handmaid’s Tale Season 5 has a start date of September 14, 2022, so look for that to come out shortly before or thereafter.
This line-up will begin on 9/23/2022. These images do not have a menu yet, but you can follow my blog or my Instagram to get updates on when they’re posted.

We do Family Flick Friday every, well, Friday, so these will be added weekly. Here is a sneak peek at our upcoming summer line-up. Follow my blog or my Instagram to get updates on when they’re posted. Note: Line-up subject to change.
This page will grow and evolve constantly. I doubt we will ever get tired of our home theater. At least not anytime soon. And I will never get tired of making memories with my family. If you like what you see, follow my blog or my Instagram to get updates on new movies and new treats we do throughout the year. Drop a comment or shoot me a message if you have any suggestions or requests. I absolutely love to do these and can’t wait to share so much more!
